The Japanese do this thing where they take a smashed ceramic pot, or cup, or whatever, and mend it with gold, cracks gilded and gleaming, repaired, as such, in an organic fashion, with shiny metal veins.
Ruin is transformed into beauty and treasure, and that is the whole point of the exercise – the lesson contained therein.
Our version of this is to make videos – custom-manufactured reels, individually tailored so as to initiate genuine heart-to-heart communication with certain very specific audiences of one.
They say what needs to be said – those things that actually make a real difference.
Case Study
Jeff got diagnosed with brain cancer, with only a few weeks left to live, and he took it badly. He set a bed up in the living room and avoided all contact. His wife, Laura, and their kids were the only people he would see.
After a short time, knowledge of his condition leaked out. Laura told her sister Pat about what was going on, and, after some consideration, Pat reached out and had us put together a video, with Jeff’s entire social circle – family and friends: everybody – all coming together to tell him just how much they loved him.
Seven and some hours of footage was distilled down into twenty-six minutes of loving messages – a video which Jeff watched again and again.
It all starts with a phone call, or a message. Then we talk. We establish the parameters, provide an estimate and come to an agreement.
Then, it’s all systems go.
